A dream to win the series in South Africa now becomes the nightmare?

Before the start of the series Indian team was looking to seal the series this time, the main debate was whether they win it by 2-1 or whitewash SA in their backyard and apart from South African rarely anyone else predicted that SA will win the series and then the absence of DeKock in last two tests, injury of Nortje at end time makes Indian team obvious favorites of the series.

Let’s see what went wrong for the Indian team.

Inform players injury

When Nortje was ruled out of the series everyone said it’s high time for India to win their first test series in SA but Marco Jensen did a fabulous job as the replacement of Nortje even had one of the best test debut for South Africa but the Indian team got suffered a lot in the absence of Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja and then unexpected injury of Mohd Siraj in the second test.

Weak batting of Indian team

There was a time when the Indian team used to have better batting than bowling in overseas conditions but nowadays it’s the batting which is weak, In the absence of, *Rohit Sharma* Mayank failed to replicate him in the last two tests, then out of form Pujara and Rahane nowadays they become the liability in the team then there is no proper Batsman at number-6, not even a batting allrounder India missed Jadeja the batsman a lot in this series.Indian team needs to have a serious meeting on their batting line-up and should take the tough decision over Pujara and Rahane there is no extra point for experience at the end only runs matter.

Over Dependency on bowlers and Openers

India was winning the series smoothly when their opener gives a good start to put good total and bowlers defend that total but in this series, there was a lot of burden on Bowler’s shoulders in last two test batting collapsed they didn’t post a good total not enough to get defended by bowlers and above par score always creates psychological pressure on the opposition which make opposition to do mistake in hurry but there was no as such pressure on the opposition and no as such confidence in their bowling department to defend that total.

South Africa really played some good cricket

The way their debutant bowler Marco Jensen bowled in the whole series and their youngsters Keegan Petersen did batting was just fantabulous, amazing that was the best performance what you can expect from any player in your team and then Temba Bavuma the silent hero he didn’t let India take his Wicket easily and he scored some important runs played a huge role in series win and then their already established player Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, and Dean Elgar the captain did exactly what you expect from them, took responsibility, played important Innings, given Important breakthroughs.

Overall it was an amazing display of test cricket, we fans enjoyed it, and that DRS saga given some more topic to discuss and enjoy cricket, our beloved sport.Cheers.!
