The T20I World Cup frenzy is in full swing. Every country, cricket team, and player prepare for this moment. The ICC Men’s T20 Cup will begin on October 17th in the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
On October 13th, the BCCI unveiled India’s new ICC T20I World Cup jersey, which is sponsored by BYJU’S. On their official Twitter account, the BCCI posted a photo of Skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja posing with the jersey. BCCI mentioned in their tweet, “The patterns of on the jersey are inspired by the billion cheers of the fans.” Previously, the Indian cricket team wore a retro jersey kit inspired by the 1992 World Cup. The reactions and opinions of Indian cricket fans flooded social media shortly after the Jersey kit was released. Some liked the deep blue colour of the jersey, but others were puzzled. Let’s look at how Indian fans reacted to the new Indian jersey.
India set to begin their T20 WC journey by playing against the Pakistan to whom they have never lost a single match in world cups. India won the first edition of the T20 world cup in 2007, after that they couldn’t win a second time despite qualified for finals in 2014 where they have lost to Sri Lanka.
However, some Indian fans were dissatisfied with the dark colour theme and expressed their displeasure by comparing it to previous jersey kits worn by the Indian team. They didn’t even like the logo of the sponsor BYJU’S in front of “India.”
So, what are your thoughts on the BCCI’s new kit for the ICC T20I World Cup? We wish the Indian teams the best of luck in bringing the cup back to India. Please leave your thoughts in the comments section and stay tuned for more cricket news.
