Unmukt Chand led India to glory at the Under-19 world cup in 2012 beating the tournament favorites Australia. He scored a scintillating century in 2012 final to help India lift the trophy. After that, he was considered as a prospect to represent India following the footsteps of current Indian superstar Virat Kohli.

He helped the Delhi team in 2013 to win the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the first time, in the final he scored a century against Assam. We have seen a lot of star players failed to deliver in the important game, unlike that he almost scored a century in the finals.

  • U19 Quadrangular series 2012: 112 runs Against Australia,
  • U19 Asia cup 2012: 116 runs in the semi-final against Sri Lanka and 121 runs against Pakistan.
  • U19 Worldcup 2012: 111 runs against Australia in final.
  • Vijay Hazare Trophy Final 2013: 116 runs against Assam.

But due to unforeseen events, he was not able to break into the Indian side. He last led India A team at two instances in 2013 and 2015. He even tried making it to Ipl but made no impact whatsoever. Still, remember while playing for Delhi Daredevils he has cleaned up a brutal delivery from speedster Brett Lee.

With his future hanging in without hope in Indian cricket, he finally decided to Quit his career and ply his trade to MCL (Major cricket league) in the U.S for a three-year deal. He already has his fellow colleagues Smit Patel and Harmeet Singh as the company in the new circuit. Since his retirement, Twitter reactions are trending and fans are expressing their views. Take a moment to read the below,

In other words, a great talent failed to create an impact at the international level, he was not given enough chance to prove and no slot available for him to fit in. We wish him all the luck for his new assignments in MCL and hope he will do some magic with the bat.
