The first test match between India and South Africa took a dramatic turn on day three, with 18 wickets falling in the day’s play. Due to the rain, the second day of the test was completely suspended. When the third day began, India was 272/3, but no one expected the Indian batting to collapse. India was bowled out for 327 runs after losing their last seven wickets for just 55 runs. Ngidi was the star bowler for South Africa, taking his third fifer and registering 6/71.

South Africa appeared to be back in the game and in control of the game at that point, having prevented India from amassing a large total. The Indian bowlers, on the other hand, were in a completely different mood. The Indian fast bowling unit foiled all of South Africa’s batting plans, dismissing them for 197 with a healthy lead of 130 runs in the first inning. The best bowler for India was none other than Mohammed Shami, who recorded his sixth five-wicket haul and reached 200 career wickets in test cricket.

Mohammed Shami became the third fastest Indian pacer to take 200 wickets in a test. He took 55 tests to achieve this feat. Kapil Dev and Javagal Srinath are the other two, who took 50 and 54 matches respectively. On the other hand, Shami became the fastest Indian bowler to take 200 test wickets in terms of balls bowled. Shami has achieved this feat in 9896 deliveries; the previous best was by Ravi Ashwin with 10248 to do so.

For this special feat, Twitter was filled with praise from fans and ex-cricketers. So here are some special tweets from ex-cricketers and the fans of Shami.
