Team India captain Virat Kohli attended a press conference on the eve of the third Test against England at Headingley, discussing how India is desperate and aggressive on the field.

India captain Virat Kohli considered the last day of the second Test against England at Lord’s and said that the group is “not going to make a regressive stride when provoked”. Talking at the pre-match question and answer session in front of the third Test at Headingley, Kohli said the subtleties of information disclosed on the field during a warmed last day’s play at Lord’s need not be uncovered, however, those verbal volleys gave the group a few “additional inspiration”. 

“We play together, play to win. We don’t let any opposition take us lightly. We and they know we are always going to compete and find ways to win matches and take a chance whenever it’s in front of us,” said Kohli on Tuesday.

The captain also praised the openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma, who have set the platform in both Tests. The duo has provided one half-century stand of 97 in and a century partnership of 126 so far.

“We don’t have any reason to change the winning combination unless people have niggles which we haven’t encountered since we finished the last Test. A winning combination is something that you don’t want to disrupt especially when the team has achieved such an incredible win in the 2nd Test. They are even more excited to take the field and do the things that we enjoyed doing in the last game and create match-winning situations for the team,” Virat Kohli said.
