Presently team India in England for the five test match series. The first test match ended in a draw as the final day of the first test match washed out due to rain when India required 157 runs on the last day.

After the first test match, the second test match started today (12.08.2021). Due to rain, the toss was delayed a bit, as usual, India’s captain Virat Kohli lost the toss and asked to bat first.

There was one change from India as Ishant Sharma replaced Shradul Thakur, unsurprisingly Ravichandran Ashwin was left out.

On the other side, England made three changes, Haseeb Hameed, Moeen Ali, and Mark Wood replaced Zak Crawley, Lawrence, and S Broad.

Indian openers were cautious in the initial stage, they were leaving the good balls and didn’t forget to punish the loose balls. Rahul-Rohit made 127 runs for the first wicket before James Anderson took the wicket off Rohit Sharma for 83 runs, Mumbai Indians batsman missed well deserved century. He was hardly played the wrong shot during his innings. on the other hand, K L Rahul played one of the best innings in his career to score his sixth hundred. He made another 100 plus partnership in the innings with captain Virat Kohli(42).

Chetaswar Pujara yet again failed to deliver for the India team could score just 9 runs.

India scored 276 runs for the loss of three wickets at the end of the first day of the second test.

Earlier former England captain Michael Vaughn said “Lovely day bowling at lords”.

and after the toss by seeing both playing XI he further added that England picked right XI and India didn’t pick.

“Feels like England have picked the right team & India haven’t … Ashwin should have played for India to give them more Batting plus his quality bowling … He bowls well in all conditions … Perfect bowling day … Feels like a wickets day” he tweeted after the toss, he felt the batting side(India) will lose more wicket. But his prediction went wrong as India scored 276 runs for the loss of three wickets with K L Rahul(127).

He predicted that the first day of this test would assist bowling and wickets would be tumbling. but the Indian batsmen didn’t let that happen, after seeing his prediction gone wrong Indian cricket fans trolled him.
