So much happening in the country because of the COVID-19, despite the bad things happening around IPL is entertaining the most people to the core.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 season has been suspended due to the sudden spike in the covid-19 cases in their players. To prevent the virus from further spreading the Pakistan Cricket Board and the franchises decided to put the ongoing season on hold.

IPL franchises are confident in their Bio bubbles and gave a green signal to this season with no audience.

But with the ongoing second wave of the pandemic with more than 4 lakh daily cases, players especially from foreign countries are reluctant to play in this season and left to their country. 5 players are already pulled out of the tournament citing the above concerns. Andrew tye (Rajasthan Royals), R. Ashwin (Delhi capitals), Adam Zampa (Royal Challengers Bangalore) and Kane Richardson (Royal challengers Bangalore) are the cricketers who pulled out so far. Apart from Players umpires Nitin Menon and Paul Reiffiel have withdrawn citing the Covid-19 situation within their families.

Even before starting the tournament Axar Patel, Daniel Sams, Devdutt Padikkal has tested positive. Till the 29th match of Indian Premier League IPL 2021, the condition seemed to be smooth despite a huge rise in the COVID-19 cases in the country.

And Today IPL released Media advisory, which says

Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier were found to be positive in the third round of testing in the last four days. All other team members have tested negative for COVID -19.

Both the players have isolated themselves from the rest of the squad. The Medical Team is in continuous touch with the duo and are monitoring their health. Meanwhile, the Kolkata Knight Riders have now moved towards a daily testing routine to identify any other possible cases and treat them at the earliest.

The Medical Team is also determining the close and casual contacts of the two positive cases during the 48 hours prior to collection of the sample that returned the positive test results.

The BCCI and the Kolkata Knight Riders prioritize the health and safety of everyone involved and all measures are being taken in that endeavor.

BCCI has postponed the 30th match between Royal challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders. Entire Kolkata Knight Riders team members went into quarantine in the hotel at Ahemadabad. And KKR having a match against Delhi Capitals on 8th May 2021 at Ahemadabad likely to be rescheduled.
