Now its time to move on to England, Just less than a week for the start of the much-awaited test series, here we have shared the possible playing XI of the Indian team, let’s have a look to start with openers,

Rohit Sharma

Looked in control of the last match against NZ until getting dismissed by good deliveries. India needs Rohit Sharma to show resilience at the top of the order to achieve decent totals. Sharma has to bring all his experience to counter the challenging England bowlers.

Mayank Agarwal

Showed more intent during the warmup fixture against county XI and injury to Shubman Gill confirms that he will make the squad without a doubt. He needs to apply himself before he starts to score freely. Good comeback chance for him to cement his place in the side for a long run at the top.

Cheteshwar Pujara

Man is under huge pressure right at the moment to score a high volume of runs in this series to keep his place in the side. He has struggled to convert the starts he had at times. Hope he will come good with the bat to savior the team in difficult circumstances.

Virat Kohli

Indian skipper and the batting mainstay, a lot of responsibilities hang on the shoulders of Virat Kohli. He himself badly wanted to cross the three-figure mark to get his full rhythm going into the long series. Kohli hopes to recreate the 2018 series tour on the personal front to be the leading run-scorer for his team.

Ajinkya Rahane

Often the man for the crisis to help India out of danger at many times particularly on abroad tours. His strength is to build vital partnerships for India and hold one end to avoid the falling of wickets at regular intervals and to keep the scoreboard ticking. The only area of concern is he needs to avoid getting out in a soft manner at crucial junctures.

Rishabh Pant

A lot of things revolve around pant especially his wicketkeeping which will be tested on regular basis as the Indian team will have bowlers who are versatile with their execution be it pace or spin. Rishabh pant who was the hero for India in the previous Australia tour will be expected to carry the batting fireworks that India required from the lower middle order.

Ravindra Jadeja

Due to the non-availability of proper batting all-rounders in the squad, Jadeja has to fill the big void. India needs Jadeja to get crucial runs and play second fiddle for supporting fast bowlers when they need some quick overs from him. He will be more useful if pitches start wearing out on the final two days and start taking turns out of the rough areas created by fast bowlers

Ravichandran Ashwin

Highest wicket-taker of the current Indian setup. He has to restrict the flow of runs and pick wickets to keep India in the hunt. very much capable of scoring good odd runs but his overseas record is not overwhelming. Had ample practice time by playing for the surrey county team, picked six wickets in the second innings. He will be looking to make some inroads into England’s middle order.

Ishant Sharma

A most experienced member of the team has played 100 tests to his name. Ishant will have to trouble the inexperienced top order of England by bowling full-length deliveries outside off which is very effective in English conditions. India has to give him long spells to utilize him to the fullest. can expect him to serve the role of Nightwatchman if India loses a wicket near to end of the day.

Mohammed Shami

Readymade seam and swing bowler who will get lots of purchase from the green lush English pitches. He will hit the deck hard and will ask a lot of questions to the England batsman with his immaculate line and lengths. When the ball gets old he will unsettle the batters using the reverse swing as well.

Jasprit Bumrah

Has all the skill set required for a premium fast bowler be it skiddy pace, pinpoint yorkers, deadly bouncers, and occasional slower ones too? Had a below-par performance on recent test matches for his standards. Facing a tough competition for a place in the side from the other bowlers in the squad especially Siraj and Shardul Thakur. He has brought his ‘A’ game to prove a point to show everyone that he is still the best in the business going around.

Possible inclusions:

KL Rahul is in place Mayank if Virat chooses to select from recent performances where Rahul scored a fine hundred in the warmups.

If India prefers to go with 4 seamers then Mohammad Siraj will play in place of Ravindra Jadeja.

Hanuma Vihari will be included only if Virat prefers to go with an extra batsman in place of either one of the spinners

who misses out.
