In T20 World cup 2021, It was the toss, which was favouring the teams to opt the field first. But now in this edition of the world cup, Its Rain. Due to rain matches has been called off. Afghanistan suffered most as their two matches were called off. Till now four matches called off in this world cup which is more compare to the history of this T20 world cup.

Australia has one of the best infrastructures for cricket and usually gives the best possible experience of cricket to the fans and the teams but this year’s T20 Worldcup was cursed by the rain and the interruption of rain decided the fate of the teams.

A team like England was always the favorite for this world cup knowing the fact their pacer and batters performed on fast pitches but it seems the rain has its different destiny. Because of the rain they may not even qualify for semi-final.

Ireland defeated England by 5 runs because of rain otherwise even after the start by England it was 53 needed off 33 balls with Moeen Ali playing on 24 off 12 balls with a strike rate of 200 and Livingstone on non-striker end with Sam Curran and Chris Woakes to follow it was the match of England but Ireland won it and England loss the most important two points in this level of the competitive tournament.

Now again the match between England and Australia was called off, the English team suffering so hard because of the rain, today’s match was so important as it was almost a decider between England and Australia who gonna qualify for the Semi finals but the rain had different plans.

Former England captain, Kevin Pietersen expressed his concern for conducting the mega tournament in Oct-November instead of Australian summer. He tweeted “Why couldn’t this T20 World Cup have been played in the glorious Australian sunshine in Jan/Feb? Does anyone know?”

Responding to his tweets cricket fans from all over the world agrees with him, mainly the Indian fans who were in the same thought of Kevin Pietersen, though their team was not affected till now due to rain, here are some tweets,

For that South Africa vs Zimbabwe match was called off where 80 was the target in 9 overs and South Africa scored 51 in just three overs with 10 wickets in hand it was Africa’s game but the rain started and the match was called off South Africa lost well deserved one point.

The total match was called- off because of rain-
AUS vs ENG match was called off.
NZ vs AFG match was called off.
SA vs ZIM match was called off.
AFG vs IRE match was called off.

This is so sad to see tournaments like the world cup getting interrupted by rain and all and these things will lead to unfair advantages for some teams later in the tournament.

With unfair advantages and disadvantages, how can someone say the Champion side is the best side in the world in that particular format?

Cheers.!
