As we already know Krunal Pandya was tested positive for COVID-19, and the second T20I is likely to happen today instead of yesterday. Adding to the fuel into the fire, eight players came in close contact with Krunal Pandya.
Though they were tested negative for COVID-19, as per Sri Lankan covid regulation ,they will not be allowed into the ground for the next three days, this left Indian team to go with an unbalanced team for the final two T20Is.
Krunal will not be able to return to India without three negative RT-PCR tests. Sri Lankan cricketers will take an RT-PCR test on Wednesday morning. As per BCCI and SLC, the two remaining matches will be played on July 28 & 29.
As of now from the available source, Prithvi Shaw, and Surya Kumar Yadav were one of the close contacts with Mumbai Indians player Krunal Pandya. Earlier BCCI confirmed that these players are set to join Kohli’s lead Indian team in the UK after this series. Now because of this situation, they have to wait longer to go to the UK.
Players who came in contact with K Pandya:
The latest reports reveal the close contacts of Krunal Pandya that include his brother Hardik, his Mumbai Indian teammate Ishan Kishan, Shikar Dhawan, Krishnappa Gowtham, Manish Pandey, Y Chahal were the contacts of Krunal Pandya apart from Surya Kumar Yadav and Shaw.
Hardik, Ishan, Surya Kumar Yadav, and Prithivi shaw are set to miss the remainder of the series. Now they have to be in quarantine for the next three days, which means India will be playing without them. Though India won the first match it will be a difficult task for them to win the series against Sri Lanka.

Sanju Samson(Wk), Bhuvneshwar Kumar(Captain), Deepak Chahar, Varun Chakravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Nitish Rana, Navdeep Saini, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rahul Chahar, Chetan Sakariya, Devdutt Padikkal.
