VIVO IPL 2021 : We’ve reached the last stage of the Vivo IPL 2021, and DC, CSK, RCB, and KKR are the four teams who have qualified thus far. It has already been confirmed that a new champion will be crowned this year. The defending champion Mumbai Indians have already exited the tournament; their hope of completing a Hat trick of titles has been dashed, thus all four teams have a chance to ride their luck and become the new champion this year.

CSK became the first team to qualify for the playoffs this year, thanks to their performance in the first half as they were brilliant in the Indian leg of IPL 2021. They have finished the group league with 2nd spot, winning 9 matches out of 14. The men in yellow, on the other hand, have lost their last three league matches against RR, DC and PBKS, which is cause for concern for CSK and its management. CSK’s batting department is their biggest source of concern; in their last two matches, batting first, they have failed to get 140 runs in their 20 overs. The drop in batting performance prior to the playoffs could spell the end of their chances of winning the championship.

Fragile Middle Order

There is no doubt about CSK’s opener’s consistency. Rituraj Gaikwad and Faf Du Plessis are the best batsmen in the competition, not just for CSK. Faf du Plessis is the tournament’s second highest run scorer with 546 runs from 14 games at a strike rate of 137.53 and 20 maximums, while his opening partner, the tournament’s emerging player Rituraj Gaikwad, has scored 533 runs at a strike rate of 137.01 and 20 maximums.

However, after them, the tale of CSK’s batting lineup appears to be meaningless. The team’s middle order appears dangerous with the likes of IPL legend Suresh Raina, consistent Ambati Rayudu, International star Moeen Ali, Captain cool MS Dhoni, and Ravindra Jadeja, but the reality is quite different. CSK’s middle order has not been able to live up to expectations. CSK’s middle order has been completely inept throughout the competition. Where their openers have registered a total of 8 fifties score in the tournament, including a century from Rituraj Gaikwad, the rest of the batsmen have only hit a half century five times. This shows the problem of CSK in the game, which can stop them from getting forward for the IPL Title.

Form of Skipper and his Deputy

Captain Cool, one of the strongest finishers in the game, has struggled in the competition. This is the first time in the IPL history that Dhoni has failed to reach a single 50-plus mark. He is without a doubt a cricket legend and the finest captain of his generation, but his batting form has dropped in recent years. MSD has only scored 96 runs in 14 games, with a strike rate of 95.05, in an era when batsmen are hitting sixes off their first ball, MSD appears helpless in the batting order.

Suresh Raina, Mr. IPL, is riding on the coattails of his skipper. The IPL Legend has looked out of sorts in this IPL, scoring only one 50 from 12 matches and making 160 runs at an average of 17.78, compared to his IPL career average of 32.5. The form of these two are the main reason of the failure for CSK.

Team’s Performance dip towards the end of the League Matches

You need momentum with you when its coming to winning the tournaments, unfortunately CSK lost their momentum towards end of the league matches. Except their openers no one gave the consistent performance with their bat, one more bad performance from the top order will lead to the downfall of the CSK, considering other teams who have qualified to playoffs having better bowling lineup to blow the CSK’s middle order.

Ironically, by beating CSK, Rajasthan, Kolkata and Mumbai won their maiden IPL title. May be we can witness new IPL champion in the same style, what is your option RCB or DC?

CSK – Failed Many times in the Final

There is no doubt about CSK’s ability to win matches when they are needed. Except for the 2020 season, CSK is the only team that has reached the playoffs on a consistent basis. But what happens after the playoff stage? CSK, which has won the title three times in IPL history, has appeared 8 times in the finals but has a history of losing on the big stage. And, with a struggling middle order and the bowling department who hasn’t performed up to the expectations, it’s looking like the same plotline this year as well for the three-time champion. CSK fans do not want this to happen again, but it may become difficult if CSK does not correct their mistakes before the Playoffs.
