On Tuesday BCCI, made an important announcement after the meeting of Governing council.

As per the Media advisory released by BCCI that the tender for IPL Media rights will be released after the announcement about two new IPL teams which is scheduled on October 25th 2021.

And for the first time in IPL history the last two league matches before the VIVO IPL 2021 Playoffs will be played concurrently. On the last day of the league stage (08.10.2021) of the ongoing season, instead of having one afternoon match and one evening match, two matches (SRH v MI and RCB v DC) will be played simultaneously at 7.30 PM IST (6.00 PM GST).at last two league matches of IPL 2021 will be played.

This move will affect the team, who is depending on the previous match result to boost the NRR. Remember the IPL 2014 when Mumbai Indians qualified for the play offs by NRR, from the previous match result it was clear indication that they have to win by that given margin. But now that benefits wont be there for any team.
