Former Indian test opener Wasim Jaffer has decided to leave the Punjab Kings. Jaffer announced it on his official Twitter handle and informed his fans about his decision. Former test opener joined Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in December 2019. Since then, he has been part of the Punjab Kings as a batting coach.

This decision came as a surprise, because it’s just two days before the mega-auction of the IPL 2022. The 43-year-old thanked the Punjab Kings for his tenure with the team and wished them good luck for the upcoming IPL. He tweeted, “Adios, and thank you @PunjabKingsIPL., it’s been a pleasure. Wishing @anilkumble1074 and the team very best for #IPL2022 🤗.”

However, Punjab Kings didn’t have a great run in the last three seasons, and they finished in sixth place in each of 2019, 2020, and 2021. On the other hand, fans seemed surprised by his decision and shared their opinions against it.
